Snoop Dogg Headlines Netflix NFL Christmas Halftime Show

Netflix is continuing its foray into live holiday programming by tapping rap legend Snoop Dogg to headline its NFL Christmas Day game. This marks the streamer's second consecutive year featuring a major musical act during a Christmas Day football matchup.

On December 25th, Snoop Dogg will grace the stage at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis for "Snoop's Holiday Halftime Party." This special performance will take place during the halftime of the Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions game. While Snoop Dogg is confirmed to perform, Netflix has indicated that "special guests" will also join him, though their identities remain under wraps for now.

Netflix expressed anticipation for the event, stating that the "Doggfather" will deliver a memorable show filled with his hit songs, festive cheer, and surprise collaborators.

This is Netflix's latest move in expanding its live event offerings, following the success of its inaugural NFL Christmas stream in 2024. That event featured a highly anticipated halftime show by Beyoncé, who debuted tracks from her "Cowboy Carter" album and was joined by artists like Post Malone and her daughter, Blue Ivy. The "Beyoncé Bowl" was a significant cultural event for the platform and was later made available on demand to Netflix subscribers.

With the bar set high after last year's impressive performance, Snoop Dogg seems poised to deliver another iconic moment. He expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, humorously stating, "NFL, Netflix, and your uncle Snoop on Christmas Day? We're servin' up music, love and good vibes for the whole world to enjoy. That's the kind of holiday magic Santa can't fit in a bag."

Bela Bajaria, Netflix Chief Content Officer, highlighted the synergy between two major entertainment forces. As a self-proclaimed fan, Bajaria described Snoop Dogg's performance as a "gift" to Netflix members, promising a spectacular holiday celebration.

"Snoop's Holiday Halftime Party" will be broadcast live on Netflix on Christmas Day, during the halftime of the Vikings vs. Lions game. The day's NFL coverage on Netflix will begin with the Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders game at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings game at 4:30 p.m. ET.
